Hotelzon Group

Esa Karppinen, Chairman and Majority Shareholder

Esa Karppinen received his LL.M. degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Helsinki in 1980. In 1983-1986 he acted as the deputy managing director of EXPACO Ab, one of the first venture capital companies listed on the Helsinki Stock Exchange. After the acquisition of several companies in 1986, he became a self-employed entrepreneur. One of these companies was Hotel Marketing Ltd., founded in 1972, and since renamed Hotelzon International. Mr. Karppinen has, over a period of 15 years, built a successful privately-owned group, Berling Capital Ltd, which is one of the largest privately owned companies in Finland. Berling Capital is the majority shareholder in Hotelzon International Ltd.

Ismo Huumonen, CFO

Mr. Huumonen graduated from the University of Tampere majoring in accounting. After graduation he worked in Halton Group and Fibox Oy, both two companies being medium sized industrial companies with an international setup and offcies in several countries around the world. In Halton he supported the establishment of an internal bank and was responsible for setting up the reporting system. In Fibox Oy he acted as Group Controller. Prior to joining Berling Capital and the Hotelzon Group, he was the Finance and Operation Director at Fujitsu Siemens Computers Finland. Fujitsu is a leading provider of customer-focused IT and communications solutions for the global marketplace. Mr. Huumonen joined Hotelzon International as a Chief Finance Officer in September of 2005.
